The connection between the various parts can be made with screws or nails or adhesive mounting as it has to bear too much weight or traction. With a good mounting adhesive you can do the whole table without using a single nail. All we require screws must be the legs bolted to the beams that will support the structure slats.
The woods on being tongued specify only slightly adhesive and will be a very strong bond. You can also make a rectangular frame with slats for the base and to achieve a more balanced support. The truth is that this design allows several improvements that you can make easily.
