Christmas birds with nuts
Materials:

  • Almonds in shell, other nuts can be as desired.
  • Red and gray felt.
  • Embroidery thread red, dark green and white.
  • Jewelry wire 18 gauge.
  • Needle.
  • Polyester fiber stuffing.
  • Needle-nose pliers.
  • Hot glue gun.
  • Dremel type drill and drill 1.6 mm.
  • Glue.
  • Cardboard.
  • Black paint or marker.
  • Transparent varnish.
  • Two bits of branch.
  • Pattern for the cap .

We will start by drilling two holes in the wide part of the kernel to insert the legs. Then we will give several coats of clear varnish and let dry almonds. Meanwhile print the pattern and so we are making the hats. The pattern also have a way to make the legs and beak. Cut the felt following the printed pattern and sew. I turn around and fill it with a bit of polyester fiber. We glued the caps on the narrow part of the kernel.

With the needle nose pliers wrap the wire as shown in the pattern. Then the legs will stick to almonds in the holes made above using a little hot glue. Similarly legs will stick to twigs.

We cut the beaks of the birds and the stick, painted eyes and had a thread through the end cap. They'll be ready to hang the Christmas tree.
